PORTSMOUTH – Roger Bacon High School's Fred Moore has officially signed his Letter of Intent to play basketball at Shawnee State for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Moore joins the Bears from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati.
Moore, who stands at 6-foot-7, averaged 10.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game during his last high school season. Those totals helped lead the Roger Bacon Spartans to the Division III State semifinals.
"We are extremely pleased to be signing Fred Moore. He is a fantastic young man who will fit perfectly with our returning players," explained Coach Hamilton. "On and off the court, he is the type of young man who will be a great teammate."
Moore was a second-team all-state selection last winter. He was also named to the all-district and first-team All-GCL team. Moore was also named a Cincinnati Enquirer Divisions II-IV all-area selection during his senior campaign.
"Fred has a great skill set to become a fantastic player in the MSC," Hamilton continued. "He has great hands and feet with very good touch shooting the basketball. He will be able to play multiple positions and comes from a great program that has prepared him to be successful at the next level. I can't wait to get started working with him and helping him reach his potential!"
