PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Baseball) – For the first time this season first in his career, Shawnee State baseball player Conner Wilson (SR/San Diego, Calif.) has been named the Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon.
The San Diego, Calif., native went 10-for-24 at the plate over seven games during the past week, leading the Bears to a 5-2 record. The senior designated hitter tallied 12 RBIs, scored eight runs and stole a base.
Wilson connected for three home runs over the week, including two in Mid-South Conference play versus Cumberland University over the weekend. He hit the third in a 12-4 victory over Fisher College on Monday.
Wilson and Shawnee State are back in action this week, traveling to Williamsburg, Ky., for a three-game road stretch versus the University of the Cumberlands. Game one is slated for 2 p.m., with a doubleheader set to follow on Saturday.
