PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Women's Tennis) – The Shawnee State women's tennis team was defeated in straight sets in all nine matches versus No. 3 Lindsey Wilson on Sunday afternoon at the Dr. William E. Daehler Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders opened up doubles with 8-0 victories in all three pro sets, as Henar Munoz and Natalia Kattah beat the duo of Molly Richards (FR/Washington Courthouse, Ohio) and Katy Singer (FR/Lucasville, Ohio) at No. 1. Jessica King and Fiona Curty did the same at No. 2 doubles – defeating Caleigh O'Neil (FR/Greenup, Ky.) and Kendi Kistler (SO/Chillicothe, Ohio) – as did Maria Prados Cid and Alex Shchipakina, knocking off Mara McGee (SO/Baltimore, Ohio) and Kiersten McGraw (FR/New Boston, Ohio) at No. 3.
Singles was much of the same, as No. 14 Munoz gave the Blue Raiders a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 over Richards, while Shchipakina defeated Singer by the same score at No. 2. The scores were the same across Nos. 3-6, as Lindsey Wilson grabbed the victory without dropping a single game.
Shawnee State's final match of the season will be against Campbellsville University at Daehler Tennis Center. A makeup due to bad weather last week, the match will be scheduled for some time this week.
