Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State cross country were in action over the weekend, competing in the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville University on Friday, and running in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning.
Men's cross country made the trip to Cedarville on Friday afternoon, finishing 10th of 16. Devon Applegate (FR/Minford, Ohio) finished 42nd for the Bears, finishing with a time of 27:47.6 in the 8k run.
Both the men and the women were in action at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning. Anna Havranek (JR/Sugarcreek, Ohio) had the best overall finish for either team on Saturday, placing ninth with a time of 18:22.19, leading her team to a second place finish. Ethan Richter (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) finished with the best time for the SSU men, grabbing 33rd place with a time of 26:06.40. The men finished fifth overall.
Cross country's next meet is to be determined. Their next scheduled meet is on Friday, October 14th at Wilmington College.
