Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State women's cross country moved up in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 on Wednesday evening, climbing three spots to #11 in the country.
The Bears were picked 13th in the preseason poll before falling to 14th in the September 14th and 28th polls. Since then, the Bears finished 2nd at the Greater Louisville Classic, trailing only NCAA-II member Grand Valley State.
Anna Havranek (JR/Sugarcreek, Ohio) has been the key cog for the Bears this season, as she has won the Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week award three times. The Sugarcreek, Ohio native won the Mid-South Conference Preview meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky for her best finish of the year.
Northwestern Christian (Ore.) holds onto the #1 spot in the poll for the second consecutive week. No other school in the Mid-South Conference received a vote in the poll.
Shawnee State cross country is back in action on Friday, October 14th when they travel to the Wilmington College Invitational.
