Grand Rapids, Mich.– Shawnee State cross country picked up a pair of second place finishes on Saturday afternoon, with both teams competing in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
Megan Ashton (SR/Proctorville, Ohio) was the top finisher for the Shawnee State women, finishing fourth overall with a time of 18:16.28. Four time Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week finished sixth overall, second on the Shawnee State team with a time of 18:20.86. Alyssa Taylor (SO/Georgetown, Ohio) also finished in the top 25, finishing in 18:57.15.
Seth Farmer (SO/Waverly, Ohio) led the way for the men for the second consecutive week, notching a time of 25:20.96 to finish in sixth place overall. Adrian Ross (SR/Chillicothe, Ohio) would finish 11th at 25:44.98. Ethan Ricther and Cody Redman (JR/Circleville, Ohio) would also get top 25 finishes, with times of 25:56.10 and 26:00.50 respectively.
The cross country teams begin their postseason on Saturday, November 5th at the Mid-South Conference Championships, to be held in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
