Columbia, Ky. - Shawnee State women's soccer fell on the road Saturday night, dropping their final regular season match to fourth ranked Lindsey Wilson 4-0.
The Bears shipped two goals in each half. Kaitlin Cook would grab a brace in the first half, scoring in the 18th minute, followed by another goal in the 33rd minute. Shawnee State would have few opportunities, with only two shots in the first half.
The second half would be much of the same, as SSU would only get two more shots total. Lyana Perez would put the home team up 3-0 in the 50th minute, and Yvonne Ploeg would finish the scoring in the 75th minute.
With the loss, Shawnee State end the regular season 6-6-1, and fall to 3-4 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson improve to 12-3, and win the conference with a 7-0 record.
Shawnee State clinched the fifth seed in the conference and will face Cumberlands in the first round of the Mid-South Conference tournament next Thursday, November 3rd. Shawnee State fell to Cumberlands 4-1 on September 21st.
Kickoff times for the conference tournament will be announced next week.
