Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State women's soccer kick off their postseason on Thursday, November 3rd when they take on fourth seeded Cumberlands in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The Bears ended the season with a record of 6-6-2, and a conference record of 3-4. The Bears were last in action on Saturday, October 29th, falling to #4 Lindsey Wilson 4-0.
Cumberlands finished the regular season with a record of 9-8-1, and were 3-3-1 in the Mid-South Conference. The Patriots drew their last match of the season, 0-0 at home against Campbellsville.
Shawnee State are led by Jenny Campbell (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio), who has 10 goals on the season. Destiny Chester (FR/Canal Winchester) and Olivia Ball (FR/Greenup, KY) are tied for the team lead with three assists, with Chester adding five goals of her own. Maddie Woodard (JR/Camden, Ohio) has also chipped in six goals, all of them in her last seven games.
Jody LeMaster is Cumberlands' leading scorer with 10 goals, and also leads in assists with five. Asha Vilaythong has scored six goals, with Amerah Dixon and Dakota Gadd both contributing five goals and three assists.
Both Jenny Campbell and Jody LeMaster are tied for second in the conference with their 10 goals. Michaela Garner (SO/Heath, Ohio) is second in the league with 108 saves, with Christie Funk's 69 saves good for third.
Cumberlands won this year's regular season match, a 4-1 victory in Portsmouth. Shawnee State are 4-5 all-time against the Patriots, but have lost the last two meetings after a three match winning streak from 2012 to 2014.
