Portsmouth, Ohio - Shawnee State volleyball ends their regular season on Friday evening when they travel to Kentucky to take on Campbellsville in Mid-South Conference action.
The Bears enter Friday with a record of 5-23, and are 0-13 in the Mid-South Conference. Shawnee State have not played since October 25th, when they fell to Georgetown 3-0 (25-6, 25-16, 25-18).
Campbellsville are 23-11 on the season, and are 9-4 in the conference. The Tigers were last in action on Tuesday, November 1st, also falling to Georgetown by a 3-1 score (25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 38-36).
Lauren Helbig (SR/Mansfield, Ohio) has continued to post big numbers for Shawnee State. The senior middle hitter is third in the league in kills per set at 3.6, and fourth in the league in hitting percentage at .274. Rhyanna Day (SR/Beaver, Ohio) is third in the league in digs per set, averaging 4.4.
Campbellsville's Jessie Pendleton leads the conference in digs per set with 5.8. Annija Abolina is second in the conference in both hitting percentage (.317) and kills per set (3.6), while Inoa Fields is tied for second in service aces per set (0.3) and third in the league in assists per set (9.7).
Shawnee State are 4-9 all-time against Campbellsville, including a 3-1 home loss to earlier this season. The two teams split last season's matches, with Shawnee State sweeping the two games in 2014.
