Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State women's golf is pleased to announce the signing of Taylor Boggs and Katherine Pirro for the 2017-18 season.
Taylor Boggs is from Athens, Ohio and is the daughter of Lee and Darla Boggs. She played golf at Alexander High School in Albany, Ohio under head coach Eric Lindner. She has lettered three consecutive seasons starting in 2014. Taylor was an All-TVC Ohio selection in 2015 and 2016, was the individual champion for her sectional in 2016, and was the individual runner up in her district the same season. Taylor plans on majoring in Computer Engineering in the fall.
Katherine Pirro is from Gahanna, Ohio and is the daughter of Jonathan and Sheri Pirro. She played golf at Gahanna Lincoln High School under head coach Patty McQuirt. Katherine has also lettered varsity for the past three seasons. She was a first team All-OCC Varsity B selection in 2013 and 2014, and was a 2015 OCC Honorable Mention. She placed third in the Ohio OCC Tournament in 2016, and was named to the OCC third team for that performance. Katherine plans to major in Occupational Therapy Assistant in the fall.
Taylor and Katherine are the women's golf team's first signings for the 2017-18 season. Men's golf has made two previous signings, inking Jordan Tieman and Craig Horton since October.
