Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State men's basketball ends the regular season on Saturday evening when they play at Cumberland (Tenn.).
The Bears are 8-18 on the year and are 1-12 in the Mid-South Conference. Shawnee State fell to (RV) Lindsey Wilson on Thursday night 71-55.
Cumberland sits at 12-13 so far this season and are 5-8 in the league. The Phoenix fell to #6 Georgetown 69-56 on Thursday.
Jayllen Carter (JR/Portsmouth, Ohio) leads Shawnee State in scoring so far this season, averaging 14.7 points per game. Frederick Moore (JR/Cincinnati, Ohio) is averaging 14.0 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game. Tamal Watkins (FR/Columbus, Ohio) is Shawnee State's third player in double figures, scoring 10.0 points per game.
Cumberland are led by Diondrey Holt, Jr., who averages 17.6 points per game. Jamonte Graham has added 12.8 points per game for the Phoenix.
Shawnee State fell in the previous meeting this season to Cumberland, losing at home 79-67. Cumberland holds the advantage in the all-time series, leading Shawnee State 6-4.
Shawnee State is already locked in to the #8 seed in the Mid-South Conference tournament, to be held next weekend. The Bears will play conference champion and #1 overall seed Life in the first round.
