The Shawnee State Women's Basketball Team (27-5) has received a No. #2 seed and will face No. #7 William Woods (MO) (23-9) in the First Round of the NAIA Division I National Tournament.  The two teams will square off at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14.

Shawnee State, the MSC regular season Co-Champions and MSC Tournament runner-ups, finished eighth on the NAIA Division I Coaches Final Top-25 Poll. 

Shawnee State will be making their 17th NAIA National Tournament appearance and second consecutive in Division I.  Last year, Shawnee State's first season in Division I, the Bears made a tournament run, finishing in the Fab Four. 

The 2012 Division I National Tournament will take place in the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, KY on March 14 through March 20.
