Charlotte, NC – Shawnee State track and field saw several members of the teams qualify for the NAIA National Championships over the past weekend at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte 49er Classic and Muskie Duals at Muskingum University (Ohio).
Adrian Ross (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) would have the best finish for men's track, winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at Charlotte and qualifying for the National Championships with a time of 9:18.80. Seth Farmer (SO/Waverly, Ohio) would also qualify for nationals with a time of 3:55.01 in the 1500 meter run, finishing 11th overall in the meet.
Megan Ashton (SR/Proctorville, OH) and Anna Havranek (JR/Sugarcreek, Ohio) would both qualify for the National Championships on the women's side. Ashton would qualify in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:21.47, finishing seventh in Charlotte. Havranek finished sixth in the 5000-meter run, qualifying for nationals with a time of 17:32.43.
Shawnee State had two team members compete in the Muskie Duals at Muskingum University (Ohio). Owen Reeher (FR/Kinsman, Ohio) and Seth Miller (FR/Ironton, Ohio) both ran in the 10,000-meter run, with Reeher finishing with a time of 32:43 and Miller with a time of 32:48.
Shawnee State track and field return to action this weekend when they compete in the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, West Virginia.
