Pikeville, Ky. – Shawnee State golf were in action over the weekend, playing in the University of Pikeville Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
Shawnee State's men finished third overall, with Brock Faulkner (SO/Waldo, Ohio) (SO/Cardington, Ohio) also finishing third to lead the way. Faulkner would shoot 78 on Saturday and 71 on Sunday to finish at 149 for the tournament, only five over par and five strokes back of tournament medalist Daymond Dollens of Columbia (Mo.). Dagan Abdon (SO/Greenup County, Ky.) would finish fourth, shooting 75 both days to go 150 for the tournament, six over par.
Shawnee State's women would finish last on the women's side at +296. Emily Hayes (FR/Pataskala, Ohio) was Shawnee State's best finisher, placing tied for 34th by shooting 94 on day one and 93 on day to for a two-day 187.
Shawnee State golf were scheduled to also play on Friday at Ohio-Chillicothe, but the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Shawnee State men's golf will be in action on April 10th and 11th at the Campbellsville Invitational, while SSU's women will be off until they join the men at the Mid-South Conference Championships April 24th-26th in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
