Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State track and field were in action this weekend at the All-Ohio Track and Field Championships, held at the University of Cincinnati.
Seth Farmer (SO/Waverly, Ohio) would be Shawnee State's best performer on the men's side, with the sophomore from Waverly, Ohio winning the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:59.11. Farmer would also finish fourth in the 800 meter run, logging a time of 1:59.24. Blaine Parker would also win an event, coming in first in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:46.77. Seth Miller (FR/Ironton, Ohio) would also have a good day on Friday, finishing second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:05.31.
Shawnee State's women would be led by a first place finish for Katie Saling (SO/Caldwell, OH) in the 5000-meter run, logging a time of 19:11.30. Kate Spencer (JR/Glouster, OH) was Shawnee State's next best finisher, getting second in the 5000 with a time of 19:41.43.
Shawnee State would also have one competitor at the Charlotte Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Adrian Ross (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) would break the school record in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing third with a time of 9:08.39.
Shawnee State track and field are back in action on Friday, April 21st at the Jesse Owens Invitational, hosted by the Ohio State University.
