Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State's cross country programs have announced their 2017 schedule, with an eye on repeating as Mid-South Conference champions and return to the NAIA National Championships.
Both the men and women will start the 2017 season on September 8, when both teams participate in the Mid-South Conference Preview Meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The next week, both teams will run at the Iona College Meet of Champions, held annually in Bronx, New York. After the meet in the Bronx, Shawnee State will compete closer to home by running in the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University on September 16 and in the Patty Forgey Invitational at Rio Grande on September 22.
SSU will participate in the All-Ohio Championships on September 29, and both teams are scheduled to participate in the Greater Louisville Classic on September 30. The two squads will participate in the Jenna Strong Invitational at Wilmington College on October 13, and wrap up the regular season at the Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 21.
The postseason will begin for Shawnee State on November 4 at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Kentucky. If the Bears win the Mid-South Championships, the teams will then be set to go to Vancouver, Washington for the NAIA National Championships on November 18.
