Fort Wayne, Indiana – Shawnee State men's soccer fell twice over the weekend, falling to Judson (Ill.) 2-0 on Saturday and to the hosts Saint Francis (Ind.) 7-1 on Sunday.
Shawnee State were on the defensive almost the entire game against Judson, getting only two shots off the whole match. Judson got the opening goal in the 12th minute through Joey Laboy, who made a run into the box and scored. Bruno Hainanon would double Judson's lead in the 26th minute, assisted by Eduardo Liebers.
SSU were again on the defensive early against Saint Francis on Sunday. The Cougars took the lead through Sam Schlegel in the 17th minute, and Schlegel would double the lead in the 22nd minute. Saint Francis would score three more goals to take a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Tito Cuellar would get a second half brace for Saint Francis to make the lead 7-0, scoring in the 49th and 56th minutes. Andrew Nimely (JR/Groveport, Ohio) would get a consolation goal for Shawnee State in the 72nd minute, assisted by Caspar Nolte (JR/Germantown, Ohio).
The losses drops Shawnee State's record to 0-5-0 on the season. Judson remain unbeaten, moving to 4-0-0, and Saint Francis are now 1-1-0 to start the season.
Shawnee State are back in action on Saturday, September 9 when they play at Brescia (Ky.). Kickoff in Owensboro is set for 4:00pm.
