Columbia, Kentucky – Shawnee State men's golf finished in second place at the Lindsey Wilson Invitational, with SSU's women finishing ninth overall.
SSU's men finished day one five strokes back of leaders Lindsey Wilson, with a 287 for the day. Jordan Tieman (FR/Portsmouth, Ohio) led SSU through day one, hitting three under 68 for the round. Jacob Braskett (SO/South Bloomfield, Ohio) hit even at 71, tied for seventh, and Dagan Abdon (JR/Greenup County, Ky.)'s 73 placed him tied for 14th.
Day two would see Shawnee State rally to take a lead on Lindsey Wilson through 15 holes. The Blue Raiders would close the day with a rally of their own to re-take the lead, edging Shawnee State by a single stroke. Jordan Tieman would finish second overall, getting a 70 in round two for a two-day -4 for the tournament. Dagan Abdon would shoot an even 71 to keep his score at +2 to tie for ninth.
Shawnee State's women would finish in ninth place overall at Lindsey Wilson. SSU would shoot a two day 713 to finish ahead of Brescia. Holley Hart (FR/Falmouth, Kentucky) was SSU's best player for a second week in a row, hitting 83-83 for a two-day 166, good enough to tie for 22nd.
Shawnee State golf is back in action September 9-10 at the Kentucky Christian Invitational.
