Georgetown, Ky – Shawnee State golf participated in the Bluegrass Mid-South Classic at Cherry Blossom on Monday and Tuesday.
After a clear Monday, Tuesday's action saw two weather delays as storms moved through the Georgetown area. Shawnee State went through lightning delays both right after tee off and around 1:10pm. The second delay lasted until 2:50pm.
For the men's team, Jordan Tieman (FR/Portsmouth, Ohio) was the top performer finishing 16th overall in the tournament. Tieman shot 75 and 74 for a total score of 149 over the course of the two days. Rounding out the top 20 performers on the weekend was SSU's Jacob Braskett (SO/South Bloomfield, Ohio), who shot 79 in the first day but had an impressive outing in day two clubbing -1. Overall, SSU men finished tied 7th with a score of 606.
Heading the effort for the women's team was Holley Hart (FR/Falmouth, Kentucky), who finished 23rd with her best score coming in day two where she scored 82. Hart finished with an overall score of 167. Behind Hart finishing T-35th was Taylor Boggs (FR/Athens, Ohio) for the Bears, who had an overall score of 176. The women finished 9th overall on the classic.
Shawnee State golf will be back in action Monday, October 2nd at the West Virginia Tech Fall Invitational.
