Three cross country runners from Central Crossing High School have signed a letter of intent with Shawnee State University.  The Comet trio ofWilliam Doering, Donovan Wonacott and Kyler Dyer each will continue their running careers with the Bears under the direction of Eric Putnam

Doering was a four- year letter winner at Central Crossing and improved his time running the 5K each year, running 18:24 as a freshman running to running a 17:00 as a senior.

While attending Shawnee State, Doering will major in Music Theatre.

Wonacott comes in as a two-year letter winner of cross country and a three-year letter winner in track also improved his times in the 5K each year as a Comet. His freshman year he had a time of 22:34 and lowered it to 16:34 his senior year. During his career for the Bears, Wonacott will major in Pre-Med.

Dyer has a great deal of range. During his tenure for the Comets, he has run 53.1 in the open 400, 4:36 in the 1600, 2:00 in the 800 and 10:17 in the 3200.

"Central Crossing has a very competitive 4X800 meter relay team that all three young men are on that we have signed," states Head Coach Eric Putnam.  "We feel like all three can come in a run well right off of the bat for us."  

The Bears finished 9thout of 32 teams at the 2012 NAIA National Championships in their fourth consecutive bid at the National Championships.
