KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Seniors Colin Keim and Jordan Williams were each named second-team All-Mid-South Conference selections at the conference banquet. For Keim, who was named as a catcher to the team, the honor marks the second straight season he has earned second-team honors. Williams, honored as a relief pitcher, was a first-time recipient of all-conference accolades.
For the season, Keim started all but one game and led the Bears in batting average (.358), hits (68) and sacrifice flies (7). He was also second on the team in doubles (12), walks (27) and on-base percentage (.429) and third on the team with 32 RBI. In the Mid-South Conference games, Keim started every game and batted .348 during those contests. He also drove in 14 runs during those 24 games.
On the mound, Williams led the team appearances (27), wins (6) saves (6), and opponent's batting average (.209). He also posted an ERA of 3.19 which was the best of any pitcher that throw over 20 innings. Over the course of the eight conference weekends, Williams made 15 appearances and won three of those contests while saving another. His three MSC wins were the most of any pitcher on the team. He was also named MSC Pitcher of the Week once during the regular season.
The Bears will open the Mid-South Conference Tournament Thursday morning against regular season champion Cumberland University. That game, which will serve as the opener for the entire tournament, will begin at 10 a.m.
