Jenni Wessel played basketball from 1991-1995. She graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,280 points. She also broke the Shawnee State record for points in a game (48), field goals made in a career (977), field goals made in a game (23), and rebounds in a game (20). Her .594 career field goal percentage and 1,092 career rebounds ranked second in Shawnee State history at the time of her graduation. The 23 field goals made against Urbana University on January 15, 1994 broke the NAIA Division II national record. Wessel was the 1995 Conference Player of the Year. She earned NAIA All-American honors in 1994 and 1995. Wessel was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
