PORTSMOUTH – Baseball scored in all but one inning to route Ohio University-Lancaster in its home finale Wednesday evening. The Bears (31-21) scored 15 times in total, while conceding just a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Shawnee State will now close out the regular season on the road this weekend with a weekend business trip to St. Catharine.

Mid-South Conference Release

PORTSMOUTH – Tennis had three student-athletes named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Team as announced by conference officials. To be eligible for this honor, a student-athlete must be in at least sophomore academic standing and hold a GPA of 3.25 or higher. These three student-athletes are the second most honored in program history, second only to last year's five honorees.

PORTSMOUTH – Rob Pell (JR/West Union, Ohio) has been named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic team for the second straight season as announced by conference officials. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be in at least sophomore academic standing with a GPA of 3.25 or higher.

PORTSMOUTH – Allie Chapman fired a two-hit shutout of Georgetown College, leading the softball team to a 1-0 victory over the visiting Tigers on Tuesday afternoon. GC would rally back in the second game and win by a 4-1 final to earn a daily split.

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Josh Zornes (SO/Ironton, Ohio) continued his solid play at the Mid-South Conference Championships and finds himself in third place overall with 18 holes to play. Zornes shot 1-over on Tuesday and sits at even par for the tournament. He is just two shots behind the University of the Cumberlands' Michal Pospisil and a single stroke behind Lindsey Wilson's Chris Butler for second place overall.
