PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Online pre-registration for the 2015 Fall Bear Run is now open online. Those interested may register through Sept. 19 at midnight. The Bear Run is slated for Sept. 23, beginning at 6 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State volleyball squad obtained 16 kills and a .519 attack percentage from Lauren Helbig (JR/Mansfield, Ohio) but despite tying the match at one with a 25-20 win in the second set over Campbellsville and garnering an 14-13 lead over the Tigers in the third set, was not able to capitalize as Campbellsville pulled out the final pair of sets en route to a 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 25-17 win over the Bears at Frank & Janis Waller Gymnasium on Tuesday evening in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) opener for both squads.

Men's Soccer - Tue, Aug. 25, 2015

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Men's Soccer) – The Shawnee State men's soccer team outshot opponent Indiana Tech nine to three in the second half and used a relentless offensive attack to put up a three-goal flurry late in the same half to rally from a 2-1 deficit at halftime as the Bears defeated the Warriors 4-2 on Tuesday evening at the Shawnee Turf.

Shawnee State, who moved to 1-2 on the young season with the victory, also outshot Indiana Tech nine to four in the shots on goal category.

Volleyball - Sun, Aug. 23, 2015

MONTREAT, N.C. (Volleyball) – Christina Shelton (JR/West Union, Ohio) and Briana Wiget (SO/Piketon, Ohio) each tallied 11 kills, and Shelton notched 12 digs for her first double-double of the season – Wiget had a double-double, as well, with 13 digs – as the Shawnee State volleyball squad cruised to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 26-24) victory over the University of Rio Grande on Saturday morning at the Volley in the Mountains tournament.

The Bears followed with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Asbury University in the afternoon session, dropping the final contest of the weekend, 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23).

Women's Soccer - Sat, Aug. 22, 2015

VIENNA, W. Va. (Women's Soccer) – The Shawnee State women's soccer team used a hat trick and an assist from Maddie Woodard (SO/Camden, Ohio), along with two goals by Schuyler Jones (SR/Ramnicu Valcea, Romania), to record the first win of the season for the Bears in blasting Ohio Valley by a 8-0 tally at Ohio Valley University on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears' offensive attack got going early and often as Shawnee State amassed an amazing 30 shots, with 21 of them coming on goal. Meanwhile, the stout Bear defense held the Fighting Scots to just seven shots, with only a trio of them coming on goal.
