MARIAN, Ind. – Brittney LiPira will wrap-up her decorated running career at Shawnee State this week with the NAIA Track & Field Championships. Although she will be making her first appearance at the NAIA Track Championships, LiPira is no stranger to the highest NAIA stage as she has competed in the NAIA Cross Country Championship in each of her four seasons of eligibility (2008-11). She has qualified for two events in her track championship debut, the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With classes and finals wrapped up for the spring semester, Shawnee State's track & field team sent just 10 members combined between both of its men's and women's teams to the Louisville Cardinal Twilight Classic. Despite the shortened list of competitors, there were several highlights for the Bears in their final meet before the NAIA Championships as three members bested their seed times.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Women's track & field posted its best-ever performance at the Mid-South Championships with a sixth place finish in the team standings. The Bears scored 76 points over the two-day meet. Although they were unable to pick up the top honor in any event, there were several near misses as seven different times the Bears posted top-three finishes in an event.

PORTSMOUTH – Women's track & field had three student-athletes honored as Academic All-MSC selections at the conference banquet. To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. All three of the award winners were also recipients of this honor during the fall cross country season.

PORTSMOUTH – Women's track & field heads to the Mid-South Conference Championships this weekend after crowing their first individual champion in this meet one season ago. As a team, the Bears placed eighth their first two appearances of this championship meet.
