PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State University volleyball squad set a new mark as the Bears placed a program-record seven players on the Mid-South Conference's All-Academic list, as announced by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon. Honors were awarded to each student-athlete of sophomore status who obtained a grade-point-average of at least 3.25 or better.

Madison Smith (SR/Orrville, Ohio) would lead the way for Shawnee State as the senior libero, who will graduate in the spring with a degree in Business Administration, recorded a 3.82 mark in making the Academic All-MSC list in all three of the seasons that the Orrville, Ohio native was eligible for the honor.

Volleyball - Sat, Nov. 7, 2015

COLUMBIA, Ky. (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State University volleyball squad was not able to get untracked against one of the top programs in the country as the Bears fell in straight sets (17-25, 12-25, 13-25) to the No. 2-ranked team in the country in Lindsey Wilson at the Biggers Sports Center in Columbia, Ky. on Saturday afternoon.

In all three sets, the Bears (15-16, 4-12 Mid-South) were not able to obtain much momentum on the attack as Shawnee State finished with an overall attack percentage of .076 in committing 21 errors compared to 30 kills, while the Blue Raiders (29-3, 15-1 Mid-South) would only commit 11 mistakes in contrast to their 46 spikes.

Volleyball - Sat, Nov. 7, 2015

LEBANON, Tenn. (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State volleyball program obtained another impressive performance from Ashley Galbraith (SR/Mansfield, Ohio) – 10 kills, zero attack errors – as well as 18 more kills from Miranda Clark (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) and Lauren Helbig (JR/Mansfield, Ohio) – but the Bears could not come up with the key points when they mattered most as Shawnee State fell to Cumberland (Tenn.) by a 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 32-34) count in a Mid-South Conference contest at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center in Lebanon, Tenn. on Friday evening.

On the frontline, the Bears (15-15, 4-11 Mid-South) put together a good performance as Shawnee State grabbed a .239 attack percentage. However, the Bears' aforementioned attack percentage was edged by the Bulldogs' (15-16, 7-9 Mid-South) .257, while also being outnumbered in the digs (65 to 53) and assists (50 to 30) categories by Cumberland as well.

Volleyball - Wed, Nov. 4, 2015

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State volleyball program obtained 11 kills from Ashley Galbraith and nine kills from Miranda Clark (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) along with 28 assists from Bonnie Huesing (JR/Mason, Ohio), but the Bears were not able to dent the set column as Mount Vernon Nazarene took a straight set (17-25, 17-25, 18-25) victory over Shawnee State on Wednesday evening in Mount Vernon.

For the contest, the Bears (15-14) were edged in nearly every category, as the Cougars (30-1) held advantages in attack percentage (.328 to .154), digs (57 to 45), and assists (46 to 33).

Volleyball - Mon, Nov. 2, 2015

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State University volleyball team hit .485 as a team and obtained 19 kills combined from Lauren Helbig (JR/Mansfield, Ohio) and Ashley Galbraith (SR/Mansfield, Ohio) – with the pair committing just a single attack error – en route to a dominating 3-0 (25-16, 25-6, 25-10) victory over Pikeville in a Mid-South Conference matchup at Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium on Monday evening in the volleyball program's last home bout of the season.

SSU (15-13, 4-10 Mid-South), who had seven players record attack percentages of .250 or better, dominated in every facet of the contest as in addition to the 39 kills, Shawnee State racked up 37 digs and 34 assists, compared to UPike's (14-21, 0-16 Mid-South) 20 assists and 17 digs.
