Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Sun, Apr. 21, 2013

PORTSMOUTH – Men's track & field split up its squad again this weekend as select runners competed at the Jessie Owens Track Classic while throwers and runners competed at the Cedarville All-Comers Meet. There was no team score for the Bears during the Jessie Ownes Track Classic that was hosted by The Ohio State University while the smaller squad placed 12th at Cedarville with 14 points.

ATHENS, Ohio – Men's track and field finished in 11th place at the All-Ohio Championships over the weekend. The Bears got all their points from the 4x400 relay team over the weekend. Amongst all the NAIA and NCAA Division II schools, the Bears finished sixth overall.

OXFORD, Ohio – Three program records fell at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational this weekend for the men's track & field program. Those record-breaking marks helped the Bears to an 11th place finish in the meet with eight points.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Sun, Mar. 31, 2013

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – This weekend marked a first in the history of the Shawnee State men's track & field program. Robert Watson showcased his skills in the throwing competitions this weekend at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open. His throws, along with numerous scoring performances in races on the track helped the Bears to a fourth place finish as a team with 78 points.

PORTSMOUTH - The first Shawnee State University Track & Field Throws Camp was a success on Saturday March 23, 2013.  The weather cooperated with a sunny 55 degrees as 45 campers attended the four hour event. Those in attendance received weight room discussion, written training plans and demonstration from SSU's throwing Todd Tudor, Assistant Coach Chuck Wentz, Exercise Science Major and Throwing Athlete Mike Watson, and Cross Country Student Athlete Briana Tudor.
