PORTSMOUTH – Head Baseball Coach Ted Tom picked up his 196th career victory at Shawnee State on Friday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Pikeville. That victory, which came in walk-off fashion, gives Coach Tom the school record for most wins in a season. Fittingly enough, that walk-off victory came just moments after Tom's coaching decision to pinch-hit Tyler Kilpatrick (SR/Coshocton, Ohio) with two outs in the bottom of the ninth for the Bears (26-21, 12-9 MSC).

PORTSMOUTH – Baseball gave a scare to NCAA Division I Morehead State as Shawnee State found themselves tied on the road, 3-3, heading to the sixth inning. However, the Eagles (18-18) scored in each of their final three at-bats, including a four-run sixth inning to pull away in the 10-4 victory over the Bears (25-21). The game comes on the heels of a pair of Morehead State victories over NCAA DI No. 12 Kentucky and No. 23 Indiana during the previous week.
