PORTSMOUTH – Bluefield swept Sunday's doubleheader against the Shawnee State baseball team to come back and win the weekend set after the Bears took the opening game on Friday evening. The Rams (27-12, 10-10 MSC) jumped all over the Bears in the opening game, a 14-4 victory in nine innings. The Bears (25-20, 11-9 MSC) rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two, sending the game into extra innings. However, the Rams scored eight runs in that extra frame for a 12-4 win.

PORTSMOUTH – Baseball used a five-run first inning to pace its victory in the opening game of its weekend set with Bluefield on Saturday. The (RV) Bears (25-12, 11-7 MSC) led the rest of the way after those five runs in a 9-5 final. The Rams (25-12, 8-10 MSC) got three of those runs back in the top of the second, but would never come any closer than that over the final seven innings.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Sat, Apr. 12, 2014

CINCINATI, Ohio – Brad Liston (SR/Circleville, Ohio) qualified his third NAIA event with a first-place finish in the 1,500-meter race during the All-Ohio Championships. That time, which was his third "A" cut of the season broke the school record and scored 10 points for Shawnee State in the team race. Liston has now qualified for the NAIA Championships in the 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters and 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field - Sat, Apr. 12, 2014

CINCINNATI, Ohio – It was a split weekend for the women's track & field team. Shawnee State sent a majority of its runners to compete in the All-Ohio Championships, while four individuals traveled to the University of Tennessee for the Tennessee Relays in hopes of reaching NAIA qualifying standards.

Softball - Sat, Apr. 12, 2014

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Softball was swept on the road Saturday at Campbellsville in the first of what will be back-to-back doubleheaders away from Boone Coleman Field this weekend. The Bears (19-14, 11-11 MSC) dropped a 4-0 game to start the day before a 9-4 loss in the second game after sweeping its home doubleheader with the Tigers (29-15, 16-10 MSC) earlier this season.
