Women's Cross Country - Sun, Oct. 26, 2014

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Women's Cross Country) – The Shawnee State women's cross country squad earned one of the biggest victories in the program's 17-year history, taking first place among 35 teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears recorded five times under 19:30 in the 5,000 meter race, landing all five scoring runners in the top 35 of the 367-person field.

Women's Soccer - Sun, Oct. 26, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Women's Soccer) – Jenny Campbell (FR/Chillicothe, Ohio) fielded a rebound from a Maddie Woodard (FR/Camden, Ohio) shot and scored from six yards away in the 87th minutes, as the Shawnee State women's soccer team grabbed a much-needed 1-0 victory over the University of Pikeville on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Shawnee Turf.

Following the game, Shawnee State honored a pair of seniors – Haley Ruggles (SR/Wheelersburg, Ohio) and Aubrey Sherman (SR/Clarksville, Ohio). The pair concluded their careers at Shawnee Turf in dramatic fashion in the late-game victory.

Men's Soccer - Sat, Oct. 25, 2014

GRAYSON, Ky. (Men's Soccer) – It took the Shawnee State men's soccer team just three minutes to find the net, and the Bears never looked back, scoring six times in the first half en route to a 7-0 victory over Kentucky Christian University on Friday evening.

The contest was stopped in the 71st minute, as darkness took hold and the game became official.

Women's Soccer - Fri, Oct. 24, 2014

GRAYSON, Ky. (Women's Soccer) – Jenny Campbell (FR/Chillicothe, Ohio) scored three goals and assisted on two more, while Schuyler Jones (JR/Ramnicu Valcea, Romania) added a pair of goals and three assists, as the Shawnee State women's soccer team cruised to an 8-0 victory over Kentucky Christian on  Friday afternoon.

Mollie King (JR/West Jefferson, Ohio) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bears to record her third shutout of the season. In fact, King faced very little action, as the Knights did not record a shot in the game – being outshot 31-0, including 16 shots on goal for SSU.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Women's Basketball) – The Shawnee State men's basketball team has been selected ninth in the 2014 Mid-South Conference Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Friday afternoon.

The poll was a collection of all nine coaches in the Mid-South Conference and coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
