PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Baseball) – The Shawnee State University baseball program has announced the cancellation of the Oct. 25 date for the 2014 Small School Prospect Showcase Series. While there will no longer be two dates for the event, there are still spots available for the Nov. 9 showcase.

Men's Soccer - Wed, Oct. 22, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Volleyball) – The Shawnee State men's soccer team mounted attack after attack for 110 minutes, compiling 31 shots – 10 on frame – but was unable to find the back of the net, leading to a 0-0 draw versus the University of Pikeville on Wednesday for Senior Day at Shawnee Turf.

Following the double-overtime contest, seniors Josh Jackson (SR/Gallipolis, Ohio), Danny Parsons (SR/Waynesville, Ohio), Joseph Webster (SR/Kendal, Cumbria United Kingdom), Kevin Copenhaver (SR/Cortland, Ohio) and Tanner Hopwood (SR/Waynesville, Ohio) were honored for their contributions to the squad after their final home competition.

Volleyball - Tue, Oct. 21, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Volleyball) – Paige Zelich (SR/Grove City, Ohio) recorded 16 and 11 kills in two games, as the Shawnee State volleyball squad earned two victories Tuesday evening in a tri-match with Ohio Christian University and West Virginia Tech at the Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium.

Tiffany Jackson (SR/Williamstown, N.J.) recorded double-figures in kills with 13 versus Ohio Christian and Christina Shelton (SO/West Union, Ohio) tacked on 10 against West Virginia Tech. Madison Smith (JR/Orrville, Ohio) collected 47 digs over the course of two contests, while Devan Scarberry (SR/Franklin Furnace, Ohio) notched 31 assists and Bonnie Huesing (SO/Mason, Ohio) added 25.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Women's Soccer) – The Shawnee State women's soccer team collected 11 shots – including five shots on goal – but could not put one past the Bluefield College goalkeeper, as the Rams shut out the Bears, 2-0, on Tuesday evening at Shawnee Turf.
