Men's Basketball - Mon, Sep. 15, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, OHIO (Men's Basketball) – The Shawnee State men's basketball team has released its slate of games for the 2014-15 season which features 14 home contests, head coach Jeff Hamilton announced Monday.

The Bears will open the season on Nov. 1 with a matchup against Kent State University at Tuscarawas at the Frank & Janis Waller Gymnasium. SSU will remain at home on Nov. 4 versus Mount Vernon Nazarene.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (Voleyball) – The Shawnee State volleyball team hit .229 as a team, and Paige Zelich (SR/Grove City, Ohio) recorded double-figures in kills with 11, as the Bears cruised to a straight-set victory over Campbellsville University on Saturday evening.

Men's Soccer - Sat, Sep. 13, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Men's Soccer)Connor Sherman scored on a header in the 14th minute, but a pair of goals with under 20 to play spelled defeat for the Shawnee State men's soccer team, who fell, 2-1, at the hands of the University of the Cumberlands in the Mid-South Conference opener on Saturday at Shawnee Turf.

The loss pushed SSU to 1-4-1 on the season and 0-1 in Mid-South play. Justin Mahlmeister took the loss in goal, though did record four saves in the contest. Shawnee's lone shot on goal found the back of the net.

Women's Soccer - Sat, Sep. 13, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, OHIO (Women's Soccer) – Jenny Campbell scored three times and Maddie Woodard added a pair, as the Shawnee State women's soccer team boasted six goals en route to a 6-4 victory over the University of the Cumberlands to open Mid-South Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Shawnee Turf.

The Patriots (0-5) took almost no time getting on the scoreboard, as Hannah Starner found a well-placed ball right at her feet inside the box and buried it in the back of the net to give UC a 1-0 advantage.

Women's Cross Country - Fri, Sep. 12, 2014

WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Women's Cross Country) – Emily Richmond (SR/Cincinnati, Ohio) crossed the finish line in 18:43 and six straight Shawnee State women followed, as the Bears earned a victory in the 16th Annual Shawnee State Invitational to open the season at Earl Thomas Conley Riverside Park on Friday evening.
