SSU women's soccer program to hold individual summer prospect camp July 12, high school soccer shootout July 26-27

The women's soccer program at Shawnee State will be holding an individual camp and a team camp over the course of the month of July as Shawnee State head coach Joe McCauley will be holding the Shawnee State Women's Summer Prospect Camp on Saturday, July 12 followed by the annual Shawnee State Girls High School Soccer Shootout on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. Both camps will be held at Shawnee Turf on the campus of Shawnee State University.
 
Shawnee State Summer Prospect Camp (Saturday, July 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
 
The individual camp, which will be held at a time to be announced on July 12 that will be updated later, will consist of a one-day training environment that mimics a high-level college soccer program.  
 
The camp, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will include technical and tactical training sessions run by the Shawnee State soccer coaching staff. Space in this camp will be limited to ensure players receive individual attention.

Shawnee State Girls High School Shootout (Saturday, July 26-Sunday, July 27, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
 
The girls high school shootout, which is a two-day event that will start Saturday, July 26 and end on Sunday, May 27, is a team camp that will run from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days for high school teams.
 
The girls high school shootout will cost $300 per team. The deadline to register is Friday, July 4.

For both camps, all participants must bring the following:
  • Shin guards
  • Socks
  • Cleats
  • Ball
  • Water bottle

McCauley, who was a standout goalkeeper at the University of Louisville, sits fifth all-time in Louisville history in single-season saves and career saves and is 10th in program history in career shutouts, with nine. He has since embarked on a coaching career that has spanned across four different decades (1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s) at women's and men's soccer programs across the NAIA (Shawnee State), NCAA Division I (Northern Illinois women's program, Bellarmine men's program) and NCAA Division II (Bellarmine women's program prior to NCAA D-I transition, Missouri Science and Technology) levels.
